Getting Around Jaipur

Once in the city, you can travel to your desired destination either by hiring a private taxi, or taking an auto rickshaw, which are easily available just outside the railway station, airport and the bus station. If you take an auto rickshaw insist on the use of the meter or fix a price before boarding. Otherwise it can burn a hole in your pockets. If the destination is nearby, a much cheaper though far slower mode of travel is available in the city, i.e, the cycle rickshaw.

Do not look for travelling by local buses as they are not always the most comfortable or reliable of transports within the city. Plenty of hired transport is also easily available, be it cars, jeeps, minibuses or MUVs, and this usually is by far the best option. Almost all vehicles include a chauffeur as self-drive cars are not available on hire.

To match the requirement of each traveller, car service providers in Jaipur offer every possible solution of travelling within the city and the nearby places. One can hire a car for full day local sightseeing for 8 hours and pay between Rs 1200 – Rs 6500, depending on the type of car they pick. And for half day sightseeing for 5 hours, it costs between Rs 700 - Rs 3500. Cars can also be hired according to one’s budget, for day trips to the nearby places as well as for intercity droppings. Bargaining and settling the price is a must before starting the trip.
