|
Rajasthan offers you a chance to feel and live like a king, albeit for a short while and nobody can resist an opportunity like that. Rajasthan features a huge variety of places to stay and it is famous for its palaces and heritage hotels. Palace hotels are the former official residences of erstwhile Maharajas now converted into luxury hotels. The most renowned ones are at Udaipur, Jaipur and Jodhpur.
A number of old dilapidated forts, havelis, hunting lodges and summer palaces have been rescued from obscurity renovated and transformed into plush heritage hotels. For the mid-range and budget traveller there are plenty of reasonably priced hotels and tourist bungalows run by the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation. A really interesting experience could be living with a family in Rajasthan. This can be done through the Paying Guest Scheme. If you are keen on home stays then you can contact the RTDC for more details.
