Jammu and Kashmir has three domestic airports at Jammu, Srinagar and Leh that are connected to Delhi and Mumbai.

How to get there by Rail
While Srinagar and Leh do not have train connections, the closest railhead is Jammu Tawi, 305 km from Srinagar. Jammu Tawi is connected by rail to Calcutta, Delhi, Bombay, Madras, Pune other important destinations in India.

How to get there by Road
Jammu is connected via National Highway 1A, to all parts of India. The roads are well maintained all weather roads to cities like Amritsar (243 km), Chandigarh (436 km), Delhi (586 km) and Katra (48 km). J & K State Road Transport Corporation, other state roadways buses and private deluxe, air conditioned buses link places in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh to Jammu.
Buses are available for Leh and Srinagar (293km) at the Jammu Bus Terminus. Leh is connected via Srinagar (434km) and by the new road from Manali (497km) in Himachal Pradesh. The Leh-Srinagar National Highway officially opens from 15th May to 15th November weather permitting.

Getting around
Good roads connect Srinagar, Leh and Jammu to each other and destinations in the state like Kargil, Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Pahalgam. In Srinagar, the main bus station is at Lal Chowk, in the centre of the city. The Leh-Srinagar National Highway officially opens from 15th May to 15th November every year depending on the weather. Key distances are Leh to Srinagar-434 km, Srinagar to Kargil-230 km and Srinagar to Jammu-293km. The Jammu Kashmir Road Transport Corporation operates buses between Jammu, Srinagar & Leh. City bus Services, mini buses, coaches, tourist taxis, MUVs, auto rickshaws, tongas and rental vehicles are available in Jammu, Srinagar and Leh.
