Festivals and Events in Manali

Dussehra and Hadimba Devi Festival are the two main festivals in Manali that are celebrated with much fanfare and gusto here.

The festival of Dussehra has special significance here and is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Manali and Kullu. Dussehra is celebrated in end September - October (autumn) and this is a good time to be in Manali and partake in the festivity. The local inhabitants come forward and take part in the glorious event where the ten day long festival hosts processions and bands by the holy River Beas and the final day witness the destruction of Ravana.

The Hadimba Devi Festival is also a big colourful affair in Manali and people come in from the neighbouring places to be a part of the fair which is organised by the temple complex. This fair is held every year in the month of May.
