The Chandni Chowk market was famous for its fountains and the shops during the Mughal period. The market is a network of lanes and by lanes and each lane has its own USP. If Chawri Bazaar is famous for its stationery items, Sadar Bazaar and the Khari Baoli are the largest whole sale markets in the whole northern India. If it’s perfumes (Ithar) and jewellery you are looking at then head to Dariba Kalan and if you are gadget freak then a trip to Lajpat Rai market which is a heaven for gadget lovers.

Kamla Nagar Market developed in 1950s is another famous shopping area of the city. Catering to the needs of not only students but other shoppers as well, Kamla Nagar market has something for everyone from fashionable yet reasonably priced apparel and shoes, fast food eating joints to shops selling popular street food as well. In close proximity to the Delhi University and hence it is a popular hang out among college students. If you are looking for branded clothes, or shoes or anything else in particular then do visit this market once. And one can also shop for trendy kurtis, shirts, coats, jackets, skirts, jeans, suits, salwar-kameez, among other things. The market is closed on Monday.

A note of caution here is to be always on the red alert as the market is full of pickpockets and also beware of touts and the duplicate products.
