| |
|
Old Delhi enjoys bracing weather from October and March. At this time the temperatures are cool and day time temperatures remain in the range of 20C. Winter is considered the best time to visit as the temperatures are more stable in winters and one can enjoy the sightseeing. As sightseeing in Old Delhi is best enjoyed either in cycle rickshaw or on foot as one can go on a relaxed pace, savour the historical places, and soak in the past glory .
December is still cool with sunny days. At night the temperatures start to drop drastically and the mercury touches the 7 - 10 degree C mark. At the height of winter in January the night temperatures fall to 2 degrees C and it rains at times keeping the day temps in the single digits too and Delhi shivers! By end January the weather turns and temperatures rise up to the 20s. Winter is a good time to be out sightseeing versus the searingly hot months of summer.
April sees the advent of summer with temperatures touching 44C in May and June. In July the monsoons arrive and it cools down but it gets muggy because of the moisture in the air. It rains intermittently till August and it is hot and humid till end September.
