Greece's variegated landscape means a wide range of lodging options. There are, as you'd expect, the modern deluxe hotels, but you will also find the luxurious beach resorts of Crete, along with the more modest campgrounds of the Pindus and the homely pension homes in Athens. Something that suits your needs and your wallet can always be found.
The only thing to remember is that if you're going during peak season , which is mid-June through August, then you should reserve well in advance or else be prepared to be homeless or to get ripped off, or both.
For the young and adventurous, there are an increasing number of very economical youth hostels and YMCA accommodations in Greece.
Greek hotels are rated by the government as either Deluxe (L) or A-E . Prices are the same within categories, though service may vary from place to place.
