What to Pack
Greece's variegated landscape means a wide range of lodging options and places to stay. The only thing to remember is that if you're going during peak season, then make sure you reserve well in advance or else be prepared to be homeless or to get ripped off, or both.
There are, as you'd expect, the modern deluxe hotels, but you will also find the luxurious beach resorts of Crete, along with the more modest campgrounds of the Pindus and the homely pension homes in Athens. Something that suits your needs and your wallet can always be found. There are plenty of mid range hotels as well for travelers looking for something reasonable without having to give up on the comforts and the basic facilities.
For the young and adventurous, there are an increasing number of very economical youth hostels and YMCA accommodations in Greece. Budget travelers have plenty of options apart from hostels, they could stay at a privately owned guesthouses or a budget hotel.
