What to Pack
Sunblock, scarves, sunglasses and sturdy shoes are essential desert wear, and will be invaluable in those hot Egyptian days. Clothing should be suited to summer weather, and also preferably modest—this is especially true for women—please avoid wearing tops that leave your shoulders uncovered. It is also a good idea to cover your legs, even if you are male. Personal medication, mosquito repellent and malaria tablets should also be included in your luggage.

Travel Documents
Visas to enter Egypt are required by all foreign nationals, except those of Malta and the Arab countries. They are quite easy to obtain, and a single entry visa that entitles the holder to stay for a month costs about US$ 22.
Visas are also issued to travelers who arrive by air or sea (not by land) just before immigration. Visa extensions are available with some difficulty and lots of waiting on production of one passport-size photograph. From Israel, it is possible to get a free permit to visit Sinai valid for up to 14 days. This of course is not a substitute for an Egyptian visa.
Its always wise to check updated visa requirements prior to travel.
