| | Where to Stay in Galapagos Islands |
| |
|
Galapagos Island does not offer many choices for places to stay. And if you are visiting the island on a cruise then you would naturally be staying on board your cruise ship. If not, then Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island would be a good choice as there are good tourist facilities available here. Hotel accommodation on the islands are expensive, much more than on mainland Ecuador, so be prepared to pay more then you usually would.
There are luxury hotels like the Royal Palm Hotel and the new Galapagos Safari Camp which is set in natural surroundings. In the deluxe and middle range budget categories there are the Villa Laguna and Hotel Sol Y Mar amongst others.
San Cristobel is officially the capital of the islands, but you may be hard put to find suitable accommodation here. There is the Orca hotel that you may like to try, but be prepared to shell out a lot of money as it is priced quite high.
