Best Time to Visit Croatia

Winter is a good time to visit Croatia only if you’re keen on skiing or other winter sports; if you’re not, then it can be a trifle too cold. September is otherwise the ideal to visit - the tourist season usually lasts from about May to September, but by September, the crowds of tourists have started retreating, and prices of accommodation and travel have started going down. The rest of the year, even when its not exactly winter, may be a bit too cold for many people, although the seaside resorts in Croatia are usually fairly warm.

Climate

As Croatia stretches from the Mediterranean coastal plains to the mountainous inland, the climate too varies according to topography. The coasts are usually typically Mediterranean: warm and sunny during the summer and mildly cool in the winter; rain falls during the winter. Summers along the coasts are fairly long, as spring generally comes early and autumn is late. Further inland, temperatures tend to be lower throughout the year.
