History
Welcome to the colours of Banff, a fabulous park in Canada’s Rockies. Originally a hot spring reserve of 26 square km in Alberta, Banff has evolved into 6641 sq km of parkland with world class skiing and climbing facilities.
Banff welcomes you at any time of the year, to experience the splendours of backcountry wilderness, the aura of the awesome peaks, to bathe in the Sulphur Mountain hot springs and to the excitement of coming face to face with elks, caribou, wolves and even grizzlies!

Best time to visit
Mid-May to mid-October is the perfect time for activities like camping and hiking. Some of the passes are snowbound till June and you may have to look for trails at lower elevations. However, summers in Banff are pleasant and dry; daylight stretches till 11 pm. The weather is dry through the year and this makes for the soft powdery snow that the Rockies are famous for.

Trivia
In winter, Banff comes alive with the most amazing array of winter sports -heli skiing, skiing, dog sledding, snowmobiling and snowshoeing in the powdery snow bowls along with ice walks on the frozen waterfalls in the canyon!
