Best Time to Visit Calgary

The summer months between June and September is the peak tourist season when there's plenty happenin' in town. One of the best ways to experience Calgary is to coincide your visit with the 10-day Calgary Stampede Festival starting in the second week of July! Parades, a rodeo, chuck-wagon racing, concerts, exhibitions, music, feasting and drinking -- all these are the order of the day during the Stampede.

Stay on for the Calgary Folk Festival in late July and tune into some great performances by local, national and international folk artistes. For a feel of Native traditions, come in August for the International Native Arts Festival - you are sure to go away quite enriched by the experience.
