Food is generally not very expensive and one can choose cheaper options like eating in small diners and bistros or from street food vendors instead of fancy restaurants. Buses are the cheapest mode of transport and air travel within the country is expensive. Do remember that the cost of train and plane tickets will come down considerably, if you book in advance.
Banking hours are shorter than retail timings -only a few have evening hours or open on Saturday. Most banks are open from Monday to Thursday from 10 am to 4.30 pm and on Fridays, a little later till 5 or 6 pm.
