We left the world behind us… the mists of time unfurled.
And over the Blue Mountains… we found a greater world.”
The Blue Mountains of New South Wales got its name from the mist of blue haze which engulfs it. Emanating from the lush eucalyptus forests that give off a fine mist of oil, the Blue Mountains are everything you could want from a mountain range.
Beautiful scenery, adventurous cliffs and gorges, exciting bush walks (most areas are so precipitous that only experienced bush walkers are allowed) are some of the high points. The Blue Mountains have been the favourite getaway for Sydneysiders for decades, and is a very popular tourist destination.

The Scenic Railway takes you 415 meters down into the rainforest. Hang on tight – you feel like you’re going down head first.
