“Alice Springs is the ideal outback town for a woman.” from the book ‘A Town like Alice’
Immortalized by Nevil Shute in his best seller book, ‘A Town like Alice’, Alice Springs has a unique story and an unusual location. It lies in the middle of nowhere – actually in the centre of this vast country. From a modest town of 200 people it has grown into a frontier capital and is home to population of over 27,000. Alice maybe the springboard to the most stunning natural landscapes in the world aka Ayers Rock and the Kakadu National Park, but let’s not underestimated the town.
A modern bustling town today, the Alice, as it is fondly referred to is replete with history and aborigine art and culture and makes for a very interesting visit, so do travel to Alice Springs!
