Richmond is the
capital of Virginia, the oldest and largest state in America and not surprisingly, is
associated with a good deal of American history. Richmond citizens played a major role
during the Revolutionary War and during the Civil War; it served as the capital of the
Confederacy.
Razed to the ground several times,
Richmond has always managed to get back on her feet. Today, it is a bustling commercial
center, boasting of several historically significant buildings and sites and some good
museums. Summer in Richmond is pleasant with July and August getting humid and hot.
Winters are moderately cold.
