exciting place on earth. Ever-changing trends, crazy intermingling of great wealth and

Thrilling, beautiful and maddening, New York
is a city that gets under your skin, one way or the other! New York City has got to be the
most happening place on earth. The city's many hotspots just don't sleep, and Broadway
resonates till way past midnight with theatre, dance, and music. New York is about MoMa
and the Met on Museum Mile, about SoHo and the Statue of Liberty, about the Empire State
Building and Greenwich Village.

| The city of New York is an amazing
mélange of people from different parts of the world and is the ultimate melting pot.
Generations of immigrants from all over the world impart tremendous diversity to the
city's population. New York has a large Italian, Irish, Indian, Chinese community and
presents a mosaic of cultures. It is difficult to tell who the real New Yorker is
is he the power suited whizkid striding purposefully down Wall Street, or the German
immigrant selling hotdogs at the street corner; the funky bohemian in SoHo or the Chinese
restaurateur in Mott Street; the rap artiste in the Bronx or the Italian baking pizzas in
Little Italy? Come and see if you can spot the real New Yorker! Summer months extend from May to September, with
temperatures reaching the 80s in July and August. It can be unbearably hot and humid in
these months. Winters are cold and temperatures drop to the 40s in December-February.
Spring and fall are very pleasant with bracing weather.
On September 11th, 2001, a day that has come to be known as Black Tuesday, Manhattan's
skyline was altered forever. It took just one hour after terrorists flew two planes into
the World Trade Centre towers to bring those impressive steel and glass edifices
crashing down. The attack destroyed not just the symbolic heart of America's business
world but sent shockwaves rippling across the world.
