One of
the major islands that make up the state of Hawaii, Maui is a top holiday destination.
With miles of beautiful beaches such as D.T Fleming, Napili, Kaanapali, Wailea Beach ,
Little Beach and Big Beach, Maui is ideal for water-sports. You can go windsurfing,
whaling, snorkeling, diving and sailing to your heart's content.
| Other attractions at Maui include Baldwin Home, the abode
of a missionary doctor in the mid-nineteenth century, the Wo Hing Temple,
a Chinese shrine, the replica of Carthaginian II, a whaling ship docked at Lahaina Harbor
and the Alexander and Baldwin Sugar Museum in central Maui. |

Visit the Iao Valley State Park , the dormant volcano,
Haleakala and the national park around it for unforgettable views. In
eastern Maui, visit Kaumahina State Wayside Park and the Waianapanapa
State Park. This part of the island abounds in waterfalls and pools which are
very picturesque.
Mauis airport is the Kahului Airpot, and is served by several
American airlines. Shuttle buses connect the airport with resorts and other parts of the
island.
Accommodation in Maui is primarily restricted to expensive beachfront
resorts which are the ultimate in luxury. For cheaper options, consider staying in the
town of Wailuku. There are a few B&B accommodations available across the island.
Maui has some of the finest restaurants in Hawaii where the food is
simply divine. Award winning chefs have set up restaurants here serving gourmet
Asian-Pacific fare and most resort hotels have excellent restaurants. Nightlife on the
island is restricted to the resorts and Lahaina where there are many pubs and bars, some
featuring live music.
