Clean beaches,
great shopping, good food - Fort Lauderdale has all this and more to offer. This port town
has some 42,000 yacht anchored in its harbour and is also popular for the water
sports it offers. Once a boisterous hangout for young students, Fort Lauderdale has
reinvented itself as the ultimate family vacation spot. Located on the east coast of the
United States, Fort Lauderdale runs through 23 miles of the beaches of Florida. Swaying
palm trees, white sands and pristine beaches make up the habitat of this area. A city of
weaving inland waterways earned Fort Lauderdale the name of Venice of America.
A small town on Florida's east coast, Fort Lauderdales fortunes changed in the late
sixties with the teen-centered movie 'Where the Boys Are ' shot here. Hordes of teenagers

authorities bought in strict measures that put an end to the partying. Now the city
is transforming itself into a prime time destination for the well heeled, especially the
yachting crowd.
