Capital of the state
of Colorado, Denver is the gateway to the Rocky Mountains. It is an appealing city with a
laid-back air and warm and friendly residents. The past and the present co-exist happily
here -- Larimer Square where the town's first log cabin once stood is today a major
shopping and entertainment center.
The soaring skyscrapers and squeaky clean streets all indicate the
bustling prosperity of the city and are in direct contrast to the historic LoDo part of
Denver, where age old structures jostle for space with the newer jazz bars. From skiing
enthusiasts to hikers, from city dwellers to cowboys all converge to this city to
take off in to the wild and beautiful Rockies.
Summers are warm and comfortable while winters see a lot of snowfall and
can get quite cold. Summer temperatures are highest in June July and touch 80 º F. Denver
receives an average of 15 inches of rain annually. The ski season is from Nov to March.
January is the coldest month with temperatures dropping to 30 º F.
