Austin is a not the typical frenetic
city where everyone is rushing someplace or other. Easy going and laid back, Austin is a
city where you can get to places but at your own pace. Fast becoming a second Silicon
Valley, the city can offer cycling as an alternative to driving. Home to the University of
Texas, Austin is also famous for being the launching pad for many famous musicians. Hang
out in the any one of its numerous clubs and bars and sway to the beat of the live bands
performing in this " Live Music Capital of the World!"
Situated about 250 kms
west of Houston, Austin lies on the Colorado River. The city was chosen to be the capital
of the state of Texas because of it’s central location and for it’s beautiful
surroundings. Warm and humid in the summer months between June and September when
temperatures can touch a high of 90 ° F. Winters are relatively mild and the lowest
temperatures drop to is 38 ° F.
The Texan likes to have everything big and better than anybody else! The outsized
Cadillacs, wide brimmed Stetsuns and xxxl size jeans and dresses bear testimony to this!
To be rude and unwelcoming does not fit in with his nature, so be sure that you will be
welcomed everywhere you go. The vast land reflects the large hearts of these people –
they really do live life king size.
