Every cobblestone and
courtyard, tree and hill, breeze and breath of Israel has been witness to tumultuous
moments in history. It was here that the Prophet Mohammed stopped on his 'Night Journey'
and ascended to Heaven. It is also the land where Jesus was born, lived, preached, died
and rose to Heaven. Israel has been as the "Promised Land" of the Jews since
Biblical times. |
 |
 |
Israel is thus
virtually the "Holy Land" of Jewish, Muslim and Christian pilgrims. These
religious diversities have made the country politically very sensitive. Israel is a land
of incredible topographical contrasts with mountains, sub-tropical valleys, fertile farms
and deserts. Climate, culture, history and religion are diverse making Israel a heaven on
earth, the proverbial Garden of Eden for tourists of discriminating, intellectual and
adventurous tastes. |
