The city of Cork lies
on the banks of the river Lee and thoughjt Cork may not be as lively a place as Dublin, it
has its own unique charm. Many of the old churches and other buildings are fine examples
of medieval architecture; the citys quays and piers are picturesque, and the
citys pubs get surprisingly busy as the evening progresses.
Theres a lot to see and
do in and around Cork. The citys seductions include museums, bustling streets, the
harbour thats considered one of the best in all of Europe, and the butter market,
which has been around since the 17th century. And to top it all, the city has
lots of entertainment to offer- theatre, cinema, cultural performances and more. Hardly
surprising then that Cork is increasingly becoming a popular place with tourists visiting
Ireland. |
