HAMILTON   &  HAYMAN  ISLAND

These are two of the most developed island resorts off the coast of Queensland. Part of the Whitsunday Islands, they've been exclusively developed by expensive resorts. If you can afford it, don't skip it. Both are about 4-5 sq. km and have their own resort complexes for about 2000 people complete with boat marinas, shops, restaurants, joy rides, scuba diving, cruising. You name it and its there.

They have forested hills, valleys and beaches, with crocodiles, koalas and wombats. Both the islands are so exclusive that day trips have stopped. Hamilton has an airport and a huge marina. Ansett flies there from Brisbane, Cairns and Melbourne.
