Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, is
its largest city and main port. Colombo may not have the sheer historical and cultural
atmosphere of Kandy or the scenic beauty of Hikkaduwa, but it certainly is a good place to
start a Sri Lankan sojourn. Colombo has its own history and its own beautiful places and,
it is, of course, the seat of government and the home of most businesses and so, in many
