After the capital, Tokyo, Japan’s main business hub is the city of Osaka, with commerce, technology and trade being the key words in the city’s vocabulary. Osaka has been, for centuries now, a trading centre, a busy inland port where money matters. It’s not a city to go to if you’re looking for lovely old temples or quiet gardens- Osaka has little of those.

Osakans are immensely fond of their food -there’s a saying that many of Osaka’s richest men have become poor because they’ve eaten all their wealth away! Anyway, whatever else it may be, Osaka is a good place to spend a day or two- a good place to wander around, to see the sights, and to eat the food.
